By 1906, the local nobility sought his hand-crafted linens,
and the house of Pratesi was born. The first Pratesi
boutique opened in the seaside town of Forte dei Marmi,
overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea off the coast of Tuscany. By
1945, a flagship store was established in Milan on the
prestigious via Montenapoleone, before expanding worldwide.
The house’s most ardent—and arguably most celebrated—client was
none other than Coco Chanel, who appointed Pratesi to create a
streamlined and elegant linen collection for her Paris home in
1927. Since then, our crisply embroidered three lines, the TRE
RIGHE collection, has become synonymous with luxury linens, and
is much imitated—although never replicated.
Mademoiselle Chanel is not the only eminence to insist on
Pratesi. Elizabeth Taylor once checked out of a hotel because
the room was not outfitted with Pratesi linens. Yves Saint
Laurent, Ernest Hemingway and Lee Radziwill were just a few of
the celebrated minds and tastemakers devoted to the brand.
Today, Pratesi is still cherished around the world for our
timeless designs, impeccably soft hand, and Old-World
